Weekly Topics - Spring Term 2009 (Weekly Topics for April - July are lower down the page) |
This term is all about myself. We will be learning about and exploring all our senses through various activities including dance, singing and creative activities relating to the topic. We will also be looking at what we were like when we were a baby and how we have changed. We are hoping to get a visit from the wild road show where we can look at and handle creepy crawlies and various unusual creatures.
The children will be processing through the areas of learning by accessing a well planned curriculum based on children’s play, interests and experiences. Staff will support and respond to their needs and adult led and child initiated spontaneous play and activities indoors and outdoors.
Below is a selection of some of the activities that the children will be able to partake in. Activities are subject to change, depending on the children’s interests. |

Notes:
Please remember to label your children’s clothing-coats, hats, hollies tops etc and also if they bring any toys from home. If you wish to purchase name labels please speak to a supervisor.
Please bring your child waterproof coat in whatever the weather, as the English climate is unpredictable and we do go outdoors in all weathers. We do provide waterproof trousers and wellies, but do not have any spare coats.
Please remember to close the gate when leaving the premises. The code for the padlock is changed if any children have managed to find out the numbers. If you do need to pick up your child early for an appointment etc, please ask a member of staff for the code on the day to ensure you are able to access the building.

Another very important request to you all is to please remember to close the gate and the front door every time you go in or out of them, even if the person in front of you has left it open! This precaution is for the safety of all the children, so please check behind you. Also hoping we have a lovely summer could parents please apply sun cream before your child arrives at pre-school.
The committee carries out the very important task of the administrative side of the Hollies. If you think you can help please come along to the next meeting (see notices on door). You do not need to become a member to attend meetings or help the pre-school, every Hollies parent is a part-owner and therefore has an equal responsibility to the group and are very welcome to take part in all meetings. So do come along and take an extra interest in how the group is run, we do need you!
We hope you all have a lovely Easter and look forward to seeing you all return for the Summer term.
