Fundraising...see how you can easily help.

The Hollies Pre School has always held fundraising events to pay for new toys and equipment, the two main events being our Christmas Fair, and our Teddy Bears Picnic. We are also currently raising funds for our new home next to Lower Park School. Thanks to all the mums, dads and friends of the Hollies for their support.

New Building

We've now handed over the cheque for our new building which will be situated at Lower Park School on Hazelbadge Road in Poynton. The Summer Ball raised more than £4,000 for the relocation fund. Find out more details and a list of the many people who supported the event on our news page.

As you can see from the photo the Bag2School collection was a resounding success. Thanks to all who helped.

Bag2School - Wed 8th October
Unwanted clothes, bedding, curtains, towels, shoes and soft toys were collected for this regular fundraising event.

The more collected the more funds we raise - the bags are 'weighed in' and exchanged for money.

This 'autumn collection' weighed 680kg which will give the Hollies £204.

School Vouchers
If you would like to help the pre-school in purchasing further essential equipment, then please collect the supermarket schools vouchers when you are shopping and pop them in to The Hollies. Your vouchers can be exchanged for a wide range of equipment which will help the children to learn and grow.

Chinese Banquet
Recently we held a Chinese 'Extravaganza' at the Beijing Restaurant. The restaurant kindly hosted 2 fundraising evenings when parents, friends and staff at the Hollies were able to enjoy a carefully selected special banquet.

The fundraising committee thanks those who supported the event which raised £277 and the friendly and helpful staff at the Beijing.

Rotary Donation
The children and staff at The Hollies Pre-School were delighted to receive a cheque for £300 from Poynton Rotary. This generous donation will help to purchase a new laptop for the children to use and develop their computer skills. Alan Bennett from Poynton Rotary is pictured handing over the cheque to Bridget Longden, a Supervisor, who said, “We are very grateful for this gift which will help to enhance various areas of learning, including looking at numbers, colours and shapes. The children enjoy using the computer and this will help us to provide that opportunity.”

Since the decision to move premises, we have had to intensify our fundraising, to try and help towards the massive costs involved in doing this. We have enjoyed events such as a curry night, a pamper evening, a pop quiz, and hope to be repeating some of the events for the forthcoming year as well as trying out some new ones!

None of the fundraising could be possible without the parents that make up the fundraising committee, but we always need help and fresh ideas in the form of new committee members.

Jewellery Parties

If anyone would be interested in holding a jewellery party to raise funds for the Hollies - please can you speak to Debbie, Bridget or Karen on 850176.

Everyone is invited to our meetings – please come along if you can – any help is very much appreciated, and benefits all of our children at the end of the day.
